Why do we bass fish?

bluegills1

Why do we bass fish? Or better yet why do we fish tournaments? I have always asked myself them two questions. You can ask that to 100 people and end up with 100 different replies.

As far as the first question it would had to be the addiction of a fish tugging on the other end of my line. I still remember that first bass at the age of five, my uncle took me fishing we were using live minows and all of a sudden my cork goes under and the bass jumps out of the water and I was hooked. Now that I am older I enjoy the most about it is teaching others how to fish and enjoy the outdoors.

Tournament fishing is a whole differant beast. My first tournament was on Sam Rayburn with the Anglers Choice team tournament. I fished it with my uncle Kevin West we finished 10ththe place and got a check and again I was hooked. My favorite part of tournament fishing is competing against the fish.

Whatever your reason to fish just do it and enjoy it. Remember to take a kid fishing and get them hooked also.
